Περίληψη/ Summary: 3077 BC. Ancient India. A young child Tej and his mother were rescued from the atrocities of Kumbh, a time-traveling demon. Their savior Rigu, a well-known sage, captured Kumbh inside a time-prison.

Twenty years later, Tej's scars have healed, but the fire of vengeance burns inside him, unabated. Rigu reveals to Tej that Kumbh has escaped his time-prison. The demon plans to use artificial intelligence to decimate human life on a global scale. Tej has a chance to seek his revenge, but he must travel to the year 2024 AD and re-capture the demon. He races against time as he has only seven days, after which Kumbh will be invincible.

   Το βιβλίο του Varun Sayal με τίτλο Demons of Time: Race to the 7th Sunset είναι το πρώτο της σειράς Time Travelers. Είναι ένα μυθιστόρημα επιστημονικής φαντασίας, όπου ο κεντρικός ήρωας Tej κάνει ταξίδια στο χρόνο για να φέρει εις πέρας μία αποστολή. Η αποστολή του είναι να βρει και να αιχμαλωτίσει έναν "δαίμονα του χρόνου", τον Kumbh.

    Η υπόθεση έχει ενδιαφέρον, καθώς πραγματεύεται ένα συναρπαστικό για πολλούς θέμα, τα ταξίδια στο χρόνο. Ο συγγραφέας, παρά το μικρό μέγεθος του βιβλίου, παρουσιάζει με αρκετές λεπτομέρειες τους κανόνες που ισχύουν στο φανταστικό πλαίσιο όπου διαδραματίζεται η ιστορία. Η πλοκή κυλάει γρήγορα και η γραφή είναι απλή, οπότε το βιβλίο είναι ευκολοδιάβαστο. Η αφήγηση είναι τριτοπρόσωπη, παρά το γεγονός ότι ο αναγνώστης ακολουθεί σχεδόν σε όλο το βιβλίο τις κινήσεις του Tej. Υπάρχουν και κάποιες ανατροπές στη μέση αλλά και προς το τέλος που κρατούν την αγωνία και το ενδιαφέρον κατά την ανάγνωση. Ίσως κάτι που δεν μου άρεσε είναι ότι οι διάλογοι ήταν περισσότεροι από όσο θα έπρεπε σε ένα βιβλίο περιπέτειας. Θα μπορούσαν να υπήρχαν περισσότερες σκηνές δράσης.

   Ο κεντρικός ήρωας Tej είναι καλογραμμένος και γίνεται αγαπητός στον αναγνώστη. Είναι δυναμικός, γενναίος και έξυπνος, χωρίς να έχει τα χαρακτηριστικά του υπερόπτη. 

   Γενικά, είναι ένα καλογραμμένο μυθιστόρημα που αξίζει να το διαβάσετε, ιδιαίτερα αν σας αρέσουν τα βιβλία με ταξίδια στο χρόνο.

   Demons of Time: Race to the 7th Sunset by Varun Sayal is a sci-fi and fantasy book and it is the first of the Time Travelers series. The main character is Tej and he is travelling through time in order to find and capture a Demon of Time, Kumbh.

   The story is really interesting and fascinating, because it has to do with time traveling. Despite the small size of the book, the author describes the rules of this fantasy world very well and with a lot of details. The plot is fast paced and there are some plot twists. That makes the book more interesting. One thing I didn't like very much, was that there were too many dialogs between the characters. I would prefer to read more action scenes, but this is only my personal opinion.

   The main character, Tej, is well-written and he is really likeable to the reader. He is fierce, brave and smart, without being arrogant.

   All in all, Demons of Time is a well-written novel and you should read it, especially if you love stories with time traveling.
